Why COR or SECOR matters
A Certificate of Recognition (COR) - or its small-employer version, SECOR - tells owners and prime contractors that your health and safety management system meets a provincially recognized standard. Many won't put you on their vendor list without it, and certified employers can also qualify for WCB premium rebates. For a lot of Alberta contractors, certification pays for itself in the first contract it unlocks.
Getting certified
We start with a gap assessment of what you have today, then build or update your program to meet the standard, train your people on their part in it, and prepare you for the certification audit so there are no surprises. We've taken companies from no formal program at all to certified - like Rob's Roofing, whose SECOR opened up new clients and contracts.
Keeping it, year after year
Certification isn't a one-time event: a maintenance audit or action plan is due every year, with a full recertification audit on the cycle. We manage the whole calendar for you - tracking deadlines, keeping documentation audit-ready all year instead of in a panicked month before the audit, and updating your program when standards or legislation change. Clients like Tipp Energy come to us to make sure their documentation doesn't just meet the current standard - it exceeds it.
